Attractors and the holomorphic anomaly equation in topological string theory (thesis)
Abstract:
The Topological string partition function can be interpreted as a wave function [1].
In this context, the non-holomorphic anomaly equation of the topological string is reinterpreted as an apparent dependence of the wave function on the background due to the choice of a complex polarization. Other choices of polarization are, however, possible. The attractor equations for BPS black holes, for instance, suggest using real polarization, in which case the backround dependence is absent [2].

AdS_2/CFT_1 duality and the quantum entropy function (thesis)
Abstract:
The quantum entropy function is a recent proposal [1] for computing the microstate degeneracy of extremal black holes. It is also related [2] to the AdS/CFT correspondence [3] that expresses the entropy of these black holes in terms of the ground state degeneracy of a dual quantum mechanical system.
